A Note About Deserters and the Groups that Encourage, Aid, and Abet Them to Desert….

Pablo Paredes, Brandon Huey, and Jeremy Hinzman; what do these men have in common? They have all deserted their posts in United States Armed Forces during a time of war. These cowards did not even file for conscientious objector status, they just packed up and ran from their posts. Where did they run to? They ran to Canada. They have applied for Political Asylum. Now here is the real sad part of this entire story, these cowards had help from Anti-War protest groups. Yep, Anti-War protesters gave them food, shelter, and a ride to Canada; they are paying for legal counsel for these cowards. And to top it all of the Anti-War protesters are actively encouraging Our service men and women that question the United States actions and policies to desert their posts. It only a matter of time when these cowards are returned to the United States to Face Court Martial.

Now about the anti-war group I view as Majorly involved with with the seditious act of encouraging cowards to desert the armed forces in the time of war, Not In Our Name (http://www.notinourname.net). This anti-war protest group has aided this bunch of cowards openly, by providing shelter, comfort, and driving these cowards to Canada. They are also paying for these cowards legal counsel. Now don't get me wrong, I am for the right to protest, it is a concept protected in the US Constitution; But, I am not in favor of sedition and treason, these are concepts against the US Constitution. By encouragiong Service men and women to desert when they question their orders and the policies and actions of the US Government in Iraq, is of the lowest moral standard. these people need to stand trial for these crimes against the United States of America. I think that plea bargains for reduced sentances should be given to these cowards who give the names of those who encouraged them to desert, sheltered them, and drove them to Canada. These people then can stand trial with these deserter and recieve the consequences of their actions.

I don't have a Blogger account (yet?) so I have to post anonymously. I have just read an article by Ollie North which is kinda about Pablo Paredes (well, sorta). Its over at townhall.com (my most favorite web site). This url will zoom you straight to Ollies' article.

When (if?) you finish reading it, let me know if you agree with me that that Marine sgt. deserves the Medal of Honor.

Sgt. Rafael Peralta, yes, this man has paid the ultimate scarifices of devotion, He has given his life, so that the others in his unit may live, that sacrifice is worthy of the Medal of Honor. That the MSM would cover these "couragous" cowards, namely Pablo Paredes, Brandon Huey, and Jeremy Hinzman, over the true heroes that show true courage in the face of war is beyond me. Sgt. Peralta has shown America what honor and sacrifice is about. He has also shown us the price for freedom is, A price that has been paid by all the americans willing to fight for freedom. In case the liberals don't know what that price is: it is blood. It is the only price that is and has paid for freedom for near to 228 years of Americas history.

Thank you for the referance Big Al, it would not have been read if you haven't asked the question.

I was mostly moved by his actions right at the end. Where Paredes was "all about me" from the beginning, Peralta was the opposite. What I mean is, this guy had suffered severe gunshot wounds, yet still thought "I gotta do something for my comrades." To me, that is an amazing frame of mind for any human. I agree with Ollie that this is a very heroic individual. Another question, if you don't mind, What is an appropriate punishment for Paredes:

a) To be forced to listen to stories about "brave" U.S. soldiers who withstood terrible odds and agony, but never gave in?

b) Simply send this moron to a country where his freedoms are meaningless?

My personal choice
c) Hook his genitals to an alternater and "fire that baby up?"

-In an unrelated note. Do you attend the fair in Larkspur, Colorado?

Personally concerning all desreters from the armed forces, When they are returned to the United States for Court Martial, under the UCMJ, should be sentanced accordingly. UMCJ 885 Article 85 section (c) states "Any person found guilty of desertion or attempt to desert shall be punished, if the offense is committed in time of war, by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct, but if the desertion or attempt to desert occurs at any other time, by such punishment, other than death, as a court-martial may direct." So what ever sentance the Court Martial directs will be more than satisfactory to me. Trust me the evidence against the named deserters is overwhelmingly against them, especially when they admit their on guilt to the MSM press.

But I also would like to point out that those who assist, conspire with and/or encourage these cowards to desert their posts; need to stand trial with these cowards and should face the same punishments for their acts of treason and sedition against the United States. The protest organization Not In Our Name, the organization t-shirt worn by Paredes, (http://www.notinourname.net) Should protest, but not actively assist those who wish to run away from their service obligations.

No, I haven't been to Lockspur though I have seen the Faire listed on The Scribe (www.faire.net/scribe). The Fairs I have been to are Kansas City Renaissance Festival, The Renaissance Faire of the Midlands Council Bluffs, Ia.(the faire that I started at as a juggler),And Kansas Newman Renaissance Faire in Wicihta, Kansas(this faire no longer exists. I would like to return to the faire circuit but, I need a really good job to fund my trips though I am finishing a swordfighting stage show take on the road. but at this time it is on hold for three major reasons: money, health, and time.
